Our featured speakers for Tuesday were Mayor Pro Tem from Portola, CA Bill Powers and City Manager Robert Meacher. Patty Clawson, Portola's Marketing Manager also accompanied the dignitaries. Bill Powers was a classmate of mine so it was special to have him as a part of the program.  Our members Past Presidents Jim Annis and Chip Lindloff are working with the City to assist them with personal, information and contacts to aid in the growth of Portola.  It was great to hear about all the area has to offer new residents. I am sure the City management would love to discuss any questions you many have. I suggest you start with his Office at 530 832-5418.

Another special guest was Past President Alfonso Ayala from the Rotary Club of San Ignacio in Belize. Their Club and ours were part of an International project last year that among other things built modern bathroom facilities and running water for one of the larger schools. This can be a on going project as Clubs are able to obtain grants. This is one of our many areas our money goes from our fund raisers.

Fund Raising Chair Past President Mark Schauss gave us an update on our March 12, 2016 St. Patrick 's Dinner. Mark plans to have a Club contest on naming the event.  Past President Chip Lindloff was instrumental in obtaining Bishop Manogue High School for the event. More to come at our next fund raising meeting.

We had some important bell ringing.  Past President Shelley Johnson is celebrating her fifteenth wedding anniversary. Past President Jim Annis is approaching his thirty fifth. It shows how well marriage agrees with them both.

President Duane Upton changed the date of this months board meeting to Sept. 22nd due to our Pizza Party and off site meeting next week at the office of The Applied Companies.

What a fit ending to our meeting. Member Kate Armstrong was celebrating the fact she secured a new position with a new company when her raffle ticket was drawn. It was the white marble but a free dinner which includes wine and beer next week isn't too bad.  Stay tuned for many fun events coming up.
