50 YEARS OF ROTARY INTERACT

Our Past President Chip Lindloff arranged for our sponsored Interact Club from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School to attend our meeting and bring us up to date on their activities. Five students along with two councilors were the presenters. Interact is 50 years old and has over 42,000 members.
Faith Syfrett, a former Interact Club member from Chester attended our meeting. Faith also received a District Grant and is in her Senior year at the University of Nevada Reno. One of the many experiences she had from Rotary is being able to graduate debt free with the aid she received. Faith along with Past President Chip plan on ramping up the Roteract Club at UNR.Our percational talk was given by Chesa Keane. It was very clear that Chesa knows her stuff, being involved in computer programing and more from the very beginning of her career.
Music Madness was a lot of fun as usual. We had a variety of winners with Courtney getting the four ticket bonus.
One of the Interact councilors, Emily Thomas, really showed her joy guessing the right song.
Past President and Fund Raising Chair, Mark Schauss gave an update on the Shamrock Shindig. Things are falling in to place but we really need to SELL, SELL, tickets. Mark will have some announcement to members on Tuesday as to their rolls and ticket prices.
Our RYE student, Siounmin, brought the coupon books we purchased a couple of weeks ago. The proceeds will go to her fund raising effort to afford a trip with the other RYE students at the end of her year. If you didn't get a chance to order one see Chesa and she can get you in contact with Siounmin. There are over 100 great value coupons.
O.K. who let the dog out? I was sure to be able to reach my long arm in the marble bag and pull out the red one. I even was fantasizing how to spend it. Oh well a free meal is always appreciated.See you all Tuesday for our celebration of 100 years of the Rotary Foundation and our guest speaker Bill Process, President of the Reno/Sparks Association of Realtors and President of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals.
